Working on tacos every day you start to see them everywhere. So when it came to creating Taco Bell's first-ever international campaign where the brief was to make the taco famous around the world the answer was obvious, turn the moon into a billboard for tacos, because every once in a while the 🌗 looks like a 🌮.... 🤯 !
Every time the moon looked like a taco (which were the first and third quarter moon) the entire world got free tacos. We even gave this new lunar phase a name - the Taco Moon. And it worked, with over 2 Billion impressions and 1,132 site mentions globally we got people all around the world to try a Taco Bell taco.
How it came to life around the world
We didn't just stop at the moon. We continued to build out the rest of our international campaign by getting the world to see tacos everywhere. We took our iconic taco shape and had people recognizing it in their own cities around the world – from the London Eye to the soccer pitch in social, print and OOH.
